Well, it’s February already and for the life of me I can’t figure out where January went to. Time has simply flashed by since Christmas and here we are starting the second month of 2011.

I’ve just taken a great offer from Teresa at Lovelight Pixels (one of my favourite pixel sites) to join her Doll Infatuation site.
Let’s face it, a pixel site devoted to dolls? I’m totally there.
I have had DI on my wish list since I first came across it when I returned to pixelling at the end of 2010, I was also a member of both Dollie Depot and Dolliemart during their short life spans.
So, more gorgeous dollies coming my way in the near future to work with.
My terms (such as they are) have also been published. I’ve just used a edited version of the terms I had up at my previous incarnation of PP. I’ve got them as brief as possible without leaving anything major out.
I will be updating them once I add some content so that what I add is covered for the sake of visitors and the sites I belong to.
I hopefully will have some graphics uploading within the next few days. Until then, take care everyone.

Well, after spending this evening working on my membership page complete with graphics, I am pleased to say I’m nearly finished.
I have almost all the graphics linked up, I have a few addresses to link up and then the page (plus all the logos) is ready to upload to the site.

After attempting to use every gallery/image plugin I could find for Word Press I was left feeling incredibly frustrated.
Taking a deep cleansing breath I got my priorities right, my lifetime memberships (which counts for the majority – apart from a couple – of my memberships) was the biggest hurdle.
I had to get my logo’s uploaded and linked. Before doing this I checked all my links and found a few sites no longer exist, or have closed their membership areas. So my LT listing was basically split in half when I included sites I knew already to be closed on top of the newer closures.
So I have placed a sample of my logos from these sites and a full text list of sites no longer open. That is done and now I face the hurdle of getting all the active links set up, I am just about to work on that now.
Rather than do it all individually via WP console I am going offline to use a web editor to create my active memberships page. I will then upload this page to my domain and simply link it to the memberships page. While it might not fit in 100% with the layout I will be easier for me than individually uploading and linking via the dashboard.
Trust me I’ve been trying this all weekend and it got me almost pulling my hair out in frustration.
Also combining the closed and open LT memberships turns the page never ending in length. So I am splitting them up for easier loading for visitors and owners of MA to check their links are up.

I’ve spent the last few hours trying to get my lifetime logo’s uploaded and linked to the relevant sites.
Who knew that such a simple concept would be so hard to put into action.
With so many buttons needing to be shown, even when I split closed and open LT memberships, it seems straight forward. But when I tested it with 10 of my smallest logos I realised the problem.
The software automatically places multiple images on top of each other instead of side by side.
I tried everything I could think of but still every logo was placed on it’s own separate line, leaving a heck of a lot of empty space when dealing with small logo’s.
Temporarily I have placed a text listing of all my lifetime memberships with active and correct links inserted on the membership page, and the logo’s are on the lifetime page. Currently they are showing via a pretty slideshow so that people know I really have them.
I am going to research this more over the weekend and hopefully I can get it fixed and link the logo’s directly from the LT page like I want.

I have finished with the ‘theme’ of the site, for now anyway, and am turning to getting my membership pages collated and uploaded.
I’m still not happy with the banner yet, I’m a bit of a perfectionist I’m afraid and I’m still not 100% sure I like it. I tinkered around with it for a couple of hours and while it’s OK it isn’t exactly ‘great’. I like the colour scheme I’m using so I will probably start afresh with the banner image (once I get my members pages done) using the same colours.

A lot has changed in my life since the middle of 2008 when my youngest nephew was born. It was touch and go with him for quite a while. During this time a lot happened, then in 2009 I upgraded to my current desktop which impacted on my pixel painting among other things. These and other things combined caused me to loose my pixel muse until late last year.
I have returned to pixel painting after going through the external drive housing my membership downloads, and got bitten by the pixelling bug once again. When I received notice that this domain and it’s hosting package were both up for renewal in February I decided to extend it for 2 more years.
I decided to make it easier on myself and to switch to using WP to run my site, so I changed hosting packages and installed it. I had to change servers when I changed packages, so I downloaded all content on my previous server to my desktop ready to republish on my new server as required.
I am currently in the process of finishing my layout, I am using a WP template from my membership at Odd Pixels. I am also checking all my membership links in preparation of integrating them into my new(er) site.
Some sites have closed up shop and similar but once I have all links correctly linked up, I will be uploading these pages. The theme and membership pages are my priority and I hope to have both completed by the end of the weekend.
As I mentioned above I am combining the membership pages into this site rather than having them on a separate mini-site like I have done since opening in 2005. So, if I am a member of your site and you are checking on your logos please don’t panic they will up by the end of the weekend. Fingers crossed and all those good luck things.
Well, I’ll be getting back to it, or I won’t be officially ‘live’ by the end of the weekend.
